These images were generated using a Processing sketch that employs particles and springs to create dynamic compositions. The program allows the user to input a string, after which the characters are traced to form outlines made up of a series of points. These points are then converted into particles, which are interconnected with neighboring particles using springs. The springs generate both attractive and repulsive forces, maintaining cohesion while keeping the particles spaced apart.

When gravity is applied, paint-like drips emerge in the composition (especially when the background is not cleared between frames). Mouse interactions introduce additional forces that push particles away from the cursor’s position, mimicking paint splatters on a canvas—a visual effect reminiscent of Jackson Pollock’s work. The interplay between decomposition and particle motion is what gives these pieces their unique character and dynamic energy.
