Info: These images were created via a Processing sketch that utilized particles and springs. The program allows you to enter a string. Then that string’s characters are traced out. The character outlines consists of a set of points. These points are transformed into particles, which are connected (via springs) to other particles near them. The springs apply an attraction and repulsion force to the particles. This force keeps them together and separated. Then gravity is applied. This causes paint-like drips to form in the image (when the background of the image is not cleared of course). Mouse interaction pushes particles away from the cursor's position. This force emulates paint splatters on a canvas (aka the Jackson Pollock effect). The decomposition process and particles' motion are what make the piece.
